BILLIT ORG (Bird of Ilocos Region Listing and Inventory Organization) is a dynamic and dedicated group composed of birding experts, trained guides, and passionate enthusiasts committed to the study, appreciation, and conservation of avifauna in the Ilocos Region. As a newly organized collective of birdwatchers, BILLIT ORG represents a growing movement toward ecotourism and biodiversity awareness in Northern Luzon.
Formed through specialized training and capacity-building programs spearheaded by the Department of Tourism, the organization plays a vital role in the promotion and sustainable development of bird tourism in the region. Its core activities include the identification, documentation, and inventory of bird species, as well as the assessment of potential birding sites suitable for both scientific research and ecotourism.
In addition to conducting bird surveys and guided birdwatching activities, BILLIT ORG actively supports the formation of local birding groups and helps build a strong network of community-based conservation advocates. By combining scientific knowledge, field expertise, and environmental education, BILLIT ORG aims to inspire greater appreciation for the rich avian biodiversity of Ilocos and to contribute meaningfully to the protection of its natural habitats.Â
